Re: Sítrónuvín - Skeeter Pee

Hey eddi849, I just saw your question! More than 4 years later jejeje... I still have some skeeter pee :-) A few weeks ago I opened and drank a bottle. It taste good! There were no signs of oxidation which in my opinion is the mayor enemy of aged homemade wine. I used a wine bottle with aluminium sc...

Price:
4700 kr per carboy (if you buy only one)
4000 kr per carboy (if you buy 6)

Re: [Óskast] Stainless steel tanks

Hi, Thanks for the reply. I will consider used tanks as well if they are in good condition (perhaps from the milk industry). I need both flat bottom and vaulted bottom tanks. As or the accessories I'll certainly need some so I might visit (brew.is). I have already contacted Speidels in Germany, they...

Re: Krækiberjavín 2010-2011

Hi H. A 2-3 years old juice can certainly be used in winemaking perhaps it doesn’t turn up into a great wine, due to juice potential oxidation, but in any case it will be fun! How have you conserved the juice for so long? Is it frozen? Did you add any preservative when you made it? Which preservativ...

Re: Sítrónuvín - Skeeter Pee

Some weeks ago I bottled my skeeter pee. Overall the drink is good: is clear and has very nice flavor. I like it and my friends like it as well. However is in the sour side so next time I'll try to use less juice/more water to bring the pH up a bit.
The one made out of lime is my favorite! :-)

Nice to hear that you managed a 'painless' fermentation and it all went well. I dont think I will carbonate mine (maybe for future batches if this one turns out to be good). I'll let you know when my skeeter pee is bottled. 1948_beer_mug_cheers.gif Regarding the color, in the picture it looks like r...

Re: Krækiberjavín 2010-2011

Even when I know my Krækiber wine is not the best one, I do like the way it tastes. I was, mainly, concerned about it been a bit fizzy so it seams that I did not degas it properly. Anyway I decided to enter this wine in the WineMaker International Amateur Competition 2012 (see the link below), which...

Hæ A week ago, I finally bottled the krækiberjavín. From now I'll wait 1 or 2 months to open the first bottle. Hi Raggi If you had poor fermentation activity the 5 first days, after that no more activity and gravity have been the same (SG=1.065) since that; Then It’s clear that fermentation is stuck. There are several causes for stuck fermentation. Two main causes are: 1. Insufficient nutrition for the yeast...
